A significant concern is that Seniors are often not informed when a different worker is assigned to their visit, which creates a lack of predictability. Additionally, many staff members do not wear identification, making it difficult to reliably confirm who is entering my apartment. The scheduling process is also inconsistent, often placing clients or "consumers" wherever space is available, which disrupts consumers independence. Lastly referring to clients as "consumers* reduces essential care to a commercial transaction and overlooks the human aspect of support services. The term implies choice and control, yet many Seniors have limited influence over scheduling or who enters their apartment.

I am a client and been in use of their services for almost 15 years. I am very grateful the help is there as my illness is a progressive. A daily support worker is like another family member walking through my doors. I could not thank the staff as words cannot express my gratitude

What I have witnessed over the course of a decade, is an organizational shift from outward vision to a reactionary and protective focus. They Almost everything ILWR does is done is aimed at safeguarding the agency from liability and to safeguard it's own self-interest. (froaccountability m their web site) they say that their values include: accountability. respect. empowerment. responsiveness. and collaboration However, in practice, ILWR is only "loosely" tied to these. They have a few attendants who provide exceptional care. But they those few are the exception, not the norm.
