  if I could give a 10 star ⭐️ I would! dealing with Fara on my initial phone call made me feel so comfortable, put my mind at ease but what made our experience even better is when Helen showed up at our door.   I used this service after heavy heavy sedation during dental surgery under general anaesthesia when the dental surgeon told me it was obligatory or else they would not proceed. I found the staff extremely personable, highly professional, helpful and eager to help in every way. I highly recommend this service.

  For approximately 18 months, Nurse Next Door provided exceptional care and support for my 96-year-old aunt in Toronto. Our experience with both the organization and its PSWs was outstanding from start to finish. What impressed us most was their unwavering commitment to my aunt’s independence. The caregivers never took over tasks unnecessarily; instead, they encouraged and supported her in doing as much as possible herself, always respecting her wishes, dignity, and sense of autonomy. The PSWs assisted with personal care, mobility, meals, medication reminders, companionship, appointments, and day-to-day activities, always with patience, kindness, and genuine compassion. Every caregiver seemed to have been selected not only for their skills, but also for their heart. They were never pushy or controlling; everything was centered around what was best for the client. The flexibility of Nurse Next Door was remarkable. Whenever additional help was needed outside the scheduled hours, the answer was always “yes.” They responded quickly to unexpected situations, including arranging ambulances after falls, adapting care when my aunt moved between home, hospital, and rehabilitation facilities, and helping coordinate specialist appointments. No request ever seemed too difficult. Reliability was another major strength. Over the entire period, caregivers were consistently on time and dependable. Even during severe snowstorms and despite commutes of more than an hour, they never missed a shift. Communication with family members was excellent. We received concise daily updates on how the day had gone, allowing us to stay very well informed despite living far away. This gave us tremendous peace of mind. The organization itself was always easy to reach regarding schedule changes or other arrangements. New PSWs were introduced thoughtfully, with supervisors accompanying them for initial visits to ensure a smooth transition and proper fit. For families needing more advanced clinical care, nurses are also available. Most importantly, every decision and every action was clearly focused on the client’s wellbeing. Time was spent caring for my aunt, engaging with her, supporting her independence, and ensuring her comfort—not unnecessarily filling hours with household chores. We are deeply grateful to Nurse Next Door and all the wonderful PSWs who cared for my aunt. They made a significant difference in her quality of life and provided our family with confidence and reassurance every single day. I would recommend Nurse Next Door without hesitation to any family seeking compassionate, reliable, and highly professional home care.
