My mother transitioned from Assisted Living to Long-Term Care at this residence in January 2026 requiring 24/7 care. Since her return, I have raised serious concerns about her safety and basic care, including missed medication, unchanged bed linens, lack of room cleaning for an extended period, and healthcare waste not being removed. As Joint Power of Attorney for Personal Care, I requested written clarification and corrective actions but did not receive the expected update. Families place trust in facilities to provide safe, consistent, and dignified care. I hope these concerns are addressed promptly to protect vulnerable residents. March 2026 Update: Following a formal complaint and inspection, it was confirmed that at the time this residence stated they could provide long-term care for my mother, they were not meeting required care standards. Deficiencies were identified in care planning, including failure to base her plan of care on a current assessment and to include all of her essential needs. There were also gaps in documented procedures for maintaining critical equipment used to safely transfer residents. Despite accepting responsibility for 24/7 care, the residence was not operating in compliance with the standards required to safely support that level of need. Families should be aware that the level of care promised may not reflect the standards being met. Update: April 2026 Your responses are noted; however, they do not reflect the reality of the situation. I have already made multiple direct attempts to engage with both the residence and senior leadership at Oxford Living, including the CFO, without receiving a meaningful response. Similarly, Inspirit Residences’ request that I “reach out” to your General Manager is a repetition of the same deflection rather than a constructive next step. The concerns raised are serious, ongoing, and well-documented. They include missed medication, failure to maintain basic hygiene standards, and unsafe conditions. These issues resulted in a formal complaint and inspection, which confirmed that, at the time the residence accepted responsibility for my mother’s 24/7 long-term care, it was not meeting required care standards. This is not a matter of customer service—it is a matter of resident safety and regulatory compliance. If you intend to address this appropriately, I expect a written response. If a meeting is being proposed, please provide a written agenda in advance outlining the items to be discussed. A formal apology acknowledging the impact on my mother’s care and our family is warranted. I expect a substantive response without further deflection.

I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to the management , staff and senior leadership of the Oxford Living and Inspirit for the exceptional care and support my mom received throughout this undeniably difficult period in her life. Our initial meeting with Mapleview was at a time when she was deemed unable to return to live independently. Melissa Sparling and all of the Mapleview staff made this transition effortless for my mom and my family as we had to come to grips with this new reality. Having no sooner transitioned, the flood crisis happened at the Mapleview site that following February. The crisis management that occurred on behalf of the staff of Mapleview that were forced to evacuate and house the residents is nothing short of a miracle. Having survived this unforeseen event, I still marvel at the grace and utmost competency shown by your staff during this surreal and terrifying time.  I will forever be thankful to Oxford Living for doing so well under such terrifying circumstances in the dead of winter at night. Our transfer to Inspirit was a soft landing spot for my mom, my brother and myself. She enjoyed very much living there and the interactions with all the nursing staff and support were a highlight of her tenancy. As her physical condition decompensated, Inspirit did everything the could to support mom in her new physical state, including generously referring us to Dr Cheung and ensuring she was cared for. Mom was accepted into LTC in London and the decision was made to move her there as the care level seemed more appropriate for her condition. Again, I cannot thank you enough for all the support you have provide myself  and my family throughout this extremely trying past few years. Any feedback you may have heard to the contrary from anyone else is frankly, not true, and comes from a toxic mix of privilege, entitlement and misinformation. This person does not represent my mother, myself or my family. Thanks again for your service and everything you've done for my mom, myself and my family.
