My Mom started living there about a year ago. Even though she already had Dementia, it became clear they do not have the proper training and shouldn't be taking anyone with extra needs. It is probably a good place for someone who can live Independently. As it is an Independent living home. I'm not sure why she was allowed to stay there, they also don't have a secure floor. My Mom was frequently leaving and getting lost, they still kept her room on the first floor anyway. Whenever, I was there the staff was unfriendly, unwelcoming, ignorant and rude to not just me but my Mom as well. She was suppose to be checked on regularly. That didn't happen either and after lunch she went back to her room. Was there for at least 4 hours before someone finally noticed she had fell, which was at dinner time by that point. No one knows how long she was left on the floor. Went to the hospital and now is no longer with us. I recommend sending your loved ones somewhere else!

My stay at The Richmond respite room was excellent. The food was delicious. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. It made getting over an operation very easy.

I've become very familiar with The Richmond Retirement Residence over the past 18 months that my Mother has lived there. The level of care varies with the level needed by the resident. Independent living is the goal but assistance is offered on many levels. The employees from the food servers to the room cleaners and office staff are all friendly and attentive to needs. The quality of food and selections are top notch. The rooms vary in size but are complete, clean and bright. My only negative is the availability of parking although most times there is a spot to park. Socialization is important to the residence and they offer various programs and outings that keep residents involved.
