  My father has been in Palliative care at the St. Paul’s Hospital suffering from untreatable cancer. I booked a move with this company to remove 5-6 items from his home as we were trying to make room in his apartment so that his place would be more accessible and comfortable. The items would be stored by Simple Moves. The move was booked on a Friday and was to happen the following Monday afternoon. I was charged $585 as a deposit for the move. The next day my father’s condition had worsened significantly which meant he would not be able to go home after all. I contacted Simple Moves right away to inform them that the move would no longer be required. At this point the company called me back to acknowledge the cancelation but mentioned that they would be keeping $400 of the deposit. I told them that these were extenuating circumstances, my father was dying and that I booked the move the day before only. I protested their decision to keep the deposit to no avai. The company mentioned that under their terms and services they were allowed to keep $400. Of course these terms and services were only sent to me once the deposit had been secured by them. I was upset by this and mentioned to them that I would be leaving a Google review to express my disappointment in their company. Simple Moves responded staggeringly insensitively stating that they would not back down from charging my father $400 and that “PEOPLE DIE EVERYDAY”. The company also threatened to sue me if I chose to leave a Google review outlining my experience. They used legal terms they did not understand like slander and extortion to try to to “scare” me into not writing this review. If all goes smoothly this company likely does an adequate job of moving your stuff but please be careful should something out of the ordinary happen. They showed to be unsympathetic even under the most dire circumstances.

  I had called a couple of moving companies, and went with Simple Moves because they were the most affordable in the market. 3 staff showed up (Jani, Lance and Nate) in time and with great disposition to get things done. They were very pleasant to work with and extra accommodating. From the time they quoted me over the phone (Lance) and answered all my questions 'till the very last box moved into the new place. The place we moved into has a lot of stairs, and they managed to carry even the heaviest piece of furniture in a very professional way. They were fast, clean and fun. They didn't miss a beat! Another thing I really liked, is that they protected all our items with reusable fabrics, instead of using bubble wraps or plastic bags; you gotta love others that protect the environment we live in! I am not looking forward to another move anytime soon, as it's a lot of work even when they did the hard part, but if I had to, I would call them back without hesitation! I highly recommend this business and Thank them for their fantastic job!

  Moving is a pain, and you’re essentially trusting strangers with all of your possessions. Simple Moves is worthy of that trust. All of our interactions with them, right from the speedy quote to booking, confirmation, and move day to the follow up – were efficient, friendly, helpful and clear. We had wonderful experiences with Jani from previous moves, and he’s built a company up to his high standards. Our moving crew (Judith, Jimmy, Doug, Omar – thanks so much!) were really lovely, they listened well, were careful with our things and our walls, and did a great job. Simple Moves turned the usual chaos of a move day into a smooth process. Pricing was completely reasonable, and we’re totally satisfied. Highly recommended!
