  The staff were amazing with my parents I felt that both my parents received excellent care and there were lots of activities for them. It is an older facility, but my parents needs were met. Thompson House did a wonderful job landscaping the court yard. I really appreciate the respectful staff.

  I had a very bad experience with their homemaking services. The coordinator was bossy and insensitive and dishonest. Their workers are mostly students and not professional and most of them are inexperienced and not well trained. I would not recommend this agency for homemaking services Unreliable and unstable homemaking service. I found that the agency is not client focused. Frequent change of workers. I do not recommend Better Living for homemaking services

  Better Living Health and Community Services – A Vital Hub for Seniors I’ve been using Better Living’s transportation services ever since I first discovered a pamphlet at St. Joseph’s Rehab Centre on Cummer Ave. The drivers with Iride have always been kind, helpful, and incredibly patient — even taking a few extra minutes when needed if a client is running a bit behind. Their compassion truly stands out. At one time back in 2013 one of my parents was a resident at Thompson House for several years, and throughout that time, the staff remained consistently friendly, caring, and supportive. It’s comforting to know that such dedicated people are there for our loved ones. Their Community Center is a long-standing and invaluable resource in our community, geared towards seniors aged 50 and over. As a non-profit organization which has been serving the neighbourhood since from when I came to know about them, over the years, it has grown into much more than just a center — it’s a refuge, a support system, and a second family for many. The center offers a wide range of programs designed to keep seniors engaged, active, and socially connected. From regular exercise classes and conversation groups to day trips and monthly social events, there is always something happening. Their instructors who lead these fitness programs are highly popular and consistently in demand whenever a new program guide is released. Each season the program book brings new and interesting topics that give the members information and enlightenment. One of the standout features of Better Living is its Adult Day Program, which is run by a dedicated and compassionate team. They design meaningful activities that keep participants involved, stimulated, and supported. For many families, this program offers peace of mind, knowing that their loved ones are in caring hands — truly, the staff become like family in their absence. Beyond physical activities, at the Better Living center provides a holistic range of services including free seminars, health workshops, specialty clinics, and access to social workers who engage with clients in a supportive and encouraging way. These services are thoughtfully tailored to meet the evolving needs of seniors who are committed to living life fully and independently. As a non-profit, Better Living’s mission continues to shine through its dedication to enhancing the lives of older adults. Its programs are always evolving to reflect the interests and needs of the community it serves.
