  We often take our Preschool Class to visit the residents in Memory Care at Green Falls. It is a beautiful and clean facility. The staff are very friendly and show great care to their residents and to us as visitors. Kaylee, Shantelle and their Team always have lots of creative activities and scheduled events going on for the Seniors . We haven’t had any meals over there but we have tasted the desserts and they are delish!! I wish my Grandparents lived there!

  The Green Falls Staff make the residents feel like family. Everyday, residents are involved in activities that promote friendship, and good health. Their activity and entertainment programs are top notch. Also, the facility is very appealing - comfortable furniture, lots of sunshine streaming through the windows, and spotless. When I talked to my Dad before writing ✍️ this Review. He said “the staff are all hardworking, caring, and kind to all the residents.” He loves his spacious suite, all the beautiful sunshine coming through his windows, his weekly housekeeping, the entertainment, the exercise program, and the variety of meals. He also deeply appreciates the kindness he receives on a daily basis, from the staff and the residents.

  Serious Care Management Concerns with Green Falls Landing in both Assisted Living & Memory Care. This review is reflective of my experience with Green Falls during the seven months my Mom transitioned from Independent Living to Assisted Living & then to Memory Care. During this sensitive time, Mom's health declined rapidly, family complexities increased due to enactment of the Power of Attorney & how Management navigated these. Green Falls claims to provide dignity, respect, compassion, transparency, & professional support. Although Green Falls’ assurances are that our loved one's well-being is their “top priority,” it was not our experience. Reality did not reflect these values. The lack of them impacted the compassionate & practical care of Mom. There were two conflicting POAs/support persons. Green Falls offered little clarity or guidance, leaving them to “learn as they go.” Policies & guidelines were vague & inconsistent creating a confusing environment. Management failed to lead with transparency or professionalism. On learning that one manager told one POA that the other was “incapable of making good medical decisions” & admitted to hiding from them — an alarming breach of professionalism, & knowing the other POA was working two jobs & lived out of town making them less available, I became deeply concerned for Mom's well-being. The concerns around Power of Attorney & family roles were mishandled, misinterpreted or ignored altogether, causing further insecurity & emotional strain for everyone involved — including staff members, family & most especially for Mom who endured unnecessary sadness & confusion. After two quarantines with the flu, Mom was often left soiled, unattended & felt pressured to eat or join activities she didn’t want. With every visit, I lovingly cleaned Mom up myself & spent time with her in meaningful ways that mattered to Mom. I spent consistent & intentionally scheduled time well known to the staff & affirmed by the manager. Green Falls was preparing to reduce my family's visits from 12 to 2 hours weekly, not for safety or abuse concerns but due to POA/support person conflict & preference. Legal advice confirmed the POA didn’t permit that broad of a restriction. Furthermore, based on the policies, regulations & guidelines surrounding The Personal Care Home Act & the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) in Saskatchewan, a designated support person (or essential family member) acts as an advocate & does not possess unilateral authority to restrict other visitors. Green Falls was supporting the POA/support persons decision to restrict visitors without evidence of actual harm or serious distress. Reducing our visits would have created a serious distress for Mom being the visits were consistent and anticipated by her. Before it took effect, my Mom was hospitalized, where we received genuine compassion, open communication & dignity. Less than 48 hours later, Mom passed peacefully. Green Falls lack of understanding the policies meant to protect the rights of the residents & their families is deeply troubling to say the least. For Mom it created a serious lack of compassionate care & support during her critical transitions. These moves were not handled smoothly creating an already emotionally charged time to be even more difficult for Mom. Families place their trust in facilities like Green Falls during some of life’s most vulnerable moments. That trust was broken in our case. I sincerely hope Green Falls takes these issues seriously & makes meaningful changes to improve their understanding of policies, transparency, sensitivity, communication & true person-centered care for future residents & their families, especially in those final stages of life when care & dignity matter most. I first attempted to raise these concerns directly with the managerial staff & director. Months passed without receiving any communication response until this review was shared where then a copy paste identical to other reviews was sent. This silence stood in stark contrast to the claims of professionalism.
