Health and Home Care Society of BC (Care BC) is an independent, BC-based not-for-profit organization established in 1898. The organization operates three Meals on Wheels programs serving vulnerable and homebound seniors in Vancouver, Richmond, and the North Shore.

In April 2024 to March 2025, Care BC delivered meals to 1530 homebound residents and coordinated 360 volunteers who provided not only nutrition but also social connection and wellness checks.

Care BC is building The Paul Myers and Shore Family Respite Centre on the North Shore, expected to open in summer 2026. This facility will provide 25 adult day spaces and 18 overnight respite beds.

The organization also operates the Community Integration Project, which assists people with newly acquired disabilities by offering specially-designed and equipped apartments to support adaptive living skills.

From the program's inception to March 31, 2025, 114 individuals and 46 family members or friends accessed this service.

Care BC was previously operating overnight respite services and adult day programs in Vancouver, but transferred these operations to Fair Haven Homes Society effective January 19, 2026.

The organization continues its core focus on alleviating food insecurity and social isolation for seniors and other at-risk individuals through evidence-based community care.
