I was hired as a casual employee and had previously worked a few shifts with the company in Truro. A typical day involved providing support to clients and following care plans. Through the role, I learned more about client care, communication, and adaptability. One challenge I experienced was being assigned to a client who frequently asked personal and inappropriate questions, which made the work environment uncomfortable. Additionally, I was interested in obtaining more hours and applied for several positions that were advertised as full-time opportunities. However, I was repeatedly informed that work would only be available while specific clients required services and that no guarantees could be made regarding ongoing employment. More recently, I applied for another position for which I felt qualified. Despite the position remaining available and actively being recruited for, I was informed that the team did not have confidence in moving forward with my application. When I explained the circumstances surrounding my previous availability and my continued interest in the role, the decision remained unchanged.

I would recommend Parkwood Home Care without reservation. My mother received top notch personal care and their administration was incredibly considerate, thorough and responsive. An excellent experience all around.
