  Eleven months ago today, my wife and I moved into Princess Gardens. Looking back on almost a year of life here, we are convinced that we made a very wise choice. Two weeks after our arrival Joan said she already felt “at home”, a sentiment echoed by our family and myself. Quickly we experienced welcome, friendship and acceptance from other residents and by the caring staff. The meals are nourishing and delicious and the various activities challenging and rewarding. There is a remarkable balance between feeling cared for and safe, yet at the same time surprisingly independent. In my past life as a minister, a number of my parishioners lived here at Princess Gardens and I was aware of their happiness and contentment with their situation. That awareness influenced our choice of Princess. Another strong “selling feature” was the easy access to the Millennium Trail. Joan and I enjoy our daily walks along the river, something we have done now in all seasons of the year. If the weather is too inclement (extreme heat in summer, extreme cold in winter), there is always the adjacent mall where we can “stretch our legs”. My advice to anyone considering a move into a retirement residence is to do it when you don’t have to do it! Make the decision while you are able to adapt to a new lifestyle and you will find the transition much easier. Princess Gardens is now our home and we are totally happy with our choice. 21 August 2026

  My wife and I chose Princess Gardens after a thorough investigation of other similar establishments. The location provides easy access to stores, restaurants, theatres, and a very pleasant walking path along the river. The entire staff is friendly, supportive and quickly learned our names and special needs. Meals are varied and , on the whole, delicious. Of special importance to us was access to health care 24/7 provided by qualified staff. When my wife died I was well supported by staff and other residents. Princess Gardens is now my home.

  My father moved into Princess Gardens in December. It was the best decision! He loves it at the Gardens. There is so much to do and he has met so many friends. I love that I know he is taken care of by the friendly and professional staff. Everyone is so patient and supportive. Dad loves the variety of food offered and that he doesn’t have to cook anymore. I highly recommend Princess Gardens to anyone looking for a retirement residence.
