I have been a resident of Alexander Muir now for seven happy months . I have waited this long before giving a review to ensure that my original highly positive opinion was maintained which it has been. This is a fairly small, cozy & friendly retirement home with excellent community spirit which continues to maintain a very high level of service in all major areas and I would certainly recommend it to anyone seeking a "home away from home". Staff: Fantastic. Kind, courteous and friendly. Health care: Conscientious, efficient and caring. Food. Excellent: Varied. Several choices. Well cooked. Fantastic home cooked (I believe) soup. Maintenance: Always there quickly & when needed. My computer kept breaking down three times in first few months and was immediately fixed by the really friendly maintenance man - Junior. Room: Small but comfortable and sufficient for my needs but several larger suites ones are available. Room cleaning: Regular, and well done. Activities: Many including regular day trips to the stores, outings, charades, entertainment. I am happy my daughter did sufficient research to locate this home in which I am happy. As a Downsizer, I have visited many homes in the area and while every home is special, Alexander Muir is very special. It is a smaller home, with a warm friendly vibe. Staff and residents alike always smile and go above and beyond. It's a place where everyone knows your name! It is personal and welcoming for the moment you enter! The GM, Alex runs a tight ship, but all mates are onboard and happy!

Alexander Muir Retirement Residence is a wonderful place where you will find professional, caring and helpful staff that really go the extra mile to make all residents feel safe and cared for. My mother was so nervous going there at first but was quickly made to feel like a part of Alexander Muir family. They offer lots of fun and interesting activities and great meals. Our family loves the peace of mind that our Mother is living in such wonderful surroundings and with so many dedicated and kind staff. Thank you to all the top notch staff at Alexander Muir.
