I was suffering from a severe eye infection that affected my vision and caused my eyes to be very swollen, I contacted Miller Optometry to come in and see the doctor but they flat out refused to see me for the infection unless I paid for a routine vision check up I explained to them that my vision and eye condition is anything but routine right now and any results from the test will be inaccurate. They said it doesn’t matter I still have to do the routine vision check and pay for it if I want to see the doctor for the infection so under that pressure and pain I was experiencing I was forced to agree. I went there and my eyes were in a very bad condition that it was physically painful to open one of my eyes and look at vision test machine but they kept trying to force me to do it and the machine at the end was not even able to lock on to my eye or read it from how red and swollen it was so it didn’t provide any results. They finally allowed me to see the doctor for the medical issue, that went fine and I left. Few days later I started experiencing new symptoms so I contacted them to see the doctor again but they told me that I have to do the routine vision check again, they wanted to subject me to same tortures process again this time I said I can’t do it as its too painful for me and i don’t see point for doing a full eye exam when I have a major eye infection. They basically said we are not going to see you then. I had to go the ER and wait for hours while putting stress on the already stressed Nova Scotia medical system I saw the ER doctor and he even agreed that it doesn’t make any sense to do a routine eye exam now. This organization has no regard for the standard duty of care required form medical organizations in Canada or for basic human rights. They subjected me to predatory pressures and practices when I was sick and at my weakest. They clearly only care about money and profits

The best and most thorough experience I’ve ever had at an optometrist. Every person you interact with truly has your best interest at heart. They take the time to explain everything clearly, offer thoughtful options, and make sure you have everything you need—without ever feeling pressured. Thank you!

My eye exam with Dr. McGinty was professional and pleasant. However, the Eye Technicians left a lot to be desired. Their behaviour was pushy, rushed and they provided unclear instructions. When I asked for clarification, they yelled the same question instead of providing more detail, which made the experience quite unpleasant and awkward.
