    I wouldn’t recommend this long term care retirement centre to anyone. They consistently have outbreaks, they don’t take full proper care of their residents, and have huge process gaps in their standards and protocols, and cleanliness isn’t up to par. Save your money and place your loved ones elsewhere.

    My mom spent more than 5 years at VV. There a some truly wonderful and carring PSWs and nurses but there are also some cruel staff. One particular PSW was an angel in how she cared for my mom. This was my mother's experience: she had to be turned even 2 hrs to prevent bed sores. One night she laid in bed for 8 hrs and cried for help and no one came to turn her. Management checked their cameras and confirmed no one went into her room to help. Often times she could not reach her call bell to get help. She had limited recreation as recreation staff forgot to take her to programs and told me she declined. She told me no one came to take her. There was one extraordinary act of kindness and compassion shown to her when she suffered a loss. Overall most of the staff that provide direct care work hard but there is little effort put into quality of life for residents.

    Management allowing the current resident and family resource person (who has no credential for the position) to take courses in school to obtain education which she dose not have for the job since pandemic. I heard they have the receptionist working for the position while the other person is in school. The receptionist sat at our loved one's conference and report nothing. So why is she there? This is scary for resident and family of lacking the social support they need. They need to hire qualify people. Resident deserves better services. Nurses and Personal Support Workers on the unit are caring and professional.
