  Nurse Next Door Markham has been wonderful to work with. Their caregivers are kind, reliable, and professional, and they have provided thoughtful support that has made a real difference for our family. Communication has been clear and responsive, and we feel confident knowing our care needs are in good hands. Highly recommended.

  For the past two years i have dealt with almost every retirement home for my senior parents in Markham and sadly every experience seemed to get worse. The facilities were disgusting, management was extremely poor, staffing was always short, and the cost was as high as having a personal butler 24/7 every month. My dad who has Alzheimer’s and dementia had a fall and was left unsupervised on the ground for two hours. He was admitted to Markham Stouffville Hospital, where the surgeon recommended Nurse Next Door. He mentioned that he had personally dealt with their team and was extremely impressed. That was the first time I had heard about senior home health care. I took some time to look into it because I did not want to make the same mistake I had made with retirement homes I called Nurse Next Door at night and was surprised that someone answered on the first ring. From the very beginning, the team was compassionate, professional, and asked all the right questions. I met with the Care Manager the next day and the consultation lasted over an hour. Every concern I had was answered. Fara is extremely good at her job. She asked not only about personal care needs but also about my parents daily activities, routines, and preferences. She even relayed everything i had said to the PSW and caregivers. Fara even came back personally to introduce Heather, which I thought was very thoughtful. She showed Heather exactly what we had discussed, including all the small details that mattered. Heather has now been taking care of my mom and dad for six months, and not once have I had that bad gut feeling I used to have with long-term care and retirement homes. I no longer worry about them being left without a shower for days or not receiving proper attention. The caregivers are extremely compassionate and well trained but more importantly Nurse Next Door has maintained consistency in the care and found a perfect personality match for my parents. I never knew a company would go such lengths. My dad never liked receiving care and was very quiet for the first couple of days. When I visited a week later I found him gardening with Heather and my mom! There was a beautifully made Italian dish, the groceries were managed, and the house was spotless. When I asked heather about it I was told this was “standard practice”. The “standard practice” I was used to before was getting a call from my brother saying Dad had not been showered in three days at the retirement home. I am extremely happy with the experience. I want to thank Fara, Heather, the management team, and even Max from billing, who was very kind and helpful. I can truly tell that this company cares about the senior population here in Markham. Highly recommend
