AMICA CREDIT MILLS was recommended highly for Memory Care, after my sister and I, researched and visited a few other places in the Mississauga area. We met with Tammy and discussed our most concerns, the safety and care first for Mom before seeing the ambiance. She assured us of the 24 hour RCP's presentence and care will be there on the floor for Mom. We moved Mom into Amica's "Memory Care " mid February of this year. I visited on a regularly basis during the week, there was always at least 5 RCP's present though out the floor keeping the residence happy and safe. Mom was found one morning 3 weeks ago with a swollen broken wrists while recovering in hospital, I visited her suite one afternoon last week to discovered the Memory Care floor without a RCP around to open my Mom's room , I waited at least 8 minutes circled all around , only to find all the residence left unattended, finally one RCP appears out of back hall washroom whom was assisting a residence . I found this very concerning and unsafe especially being a "Memory Care" floor to have love ones alone with out one or two RCP's watching over them. I immediately reported the incident to the GM and then to the Directory of Amica. One week later same incident occurred ??? Luxury no doubt, 5 stars Safety ???? May/26

I caution anyone who is touring/interested in placement at this memory care community. They charge a full refundable deposit of $1000 for an assessment - payable by credit card. Unfortunately due to their high price for care we had to decline the room for my mother. Now 30 days later I am still waiting on my refund which I have been advised will come by archaic method of a cheque. I have been completely ignored by the staff I have reached out to and when the GM (Ann) finally responded I was informed I would have it this week. This week is over and still haven’t received my cheque. Very disappointing service from a very large corporation. I hope this isn’t the type of service the residents/families living there are receiving.

This place is a scam, you pay a (supposedly) refundable deposit $1000, to go on a tour and if you don't take a room for $10000 a month they tell you that a cheque will be mailed to you. We have been waiting a month for the cheque. I wonder how loved ones are treated at this place?
