I would love to share my experiences at the Waterford and Windsong memory unit. After viewing a number of memory care facilities, Windsong was the only place that made me feel warm and inviting. The initial tour of Waterford and subsequent visits with my mother, confirmed positive feelings regarding the residence. Betty Ann immediately gave me a sense of ease, she went out of her way to answer questions and assist us with our transition. I cannot thank her enough. Windsong memory unit is a special place. It is a secure unit that creates a feeling of home. Lead by a wonderful program director, Lydia brings a passion and love to the team that is a rare find. She is passionate about her job and it shows in the activities and programs she runs. Always smiling and positive, available and motivated. Staffed by the most dedicated people I have ever met, they help each resident with care meeting their individual needs. Waterford staff have also been supportive and friendly. From cleaning staff ( love you Catherine) giving encouraging words in our first days to front desk, who always have kind words and assistance. I feel very blessed to bring my mother here and am thankful everyday to everyone who has helped with this transition in her life.

I am grateful for the experience we have had to date. The staff are exceptional, very committed to the well-being of the residents. When we were searching for the right place for my mom, nothing seemed right until we visited the Waterford. The place is gorgeous, and the staff who assisted us were so incredibly kind and supportive. They encouraged my mom to visit and become familiar with the activities and services prior to her making a decision to move there. She was made to feel welcomed. Every question was answered promptly and professionally. We have spoken to several residents who feel super happy living there. I often heard them say “they treat us very well here”. They have a welcome committee to help residents adjust and feel like they belong. My mom is in the process of moving in so I can’t comment on more than this at this time. But so far we are more than impressed. They have made a difficult and emotional decision easier to make. We move forward with a great peace of mind. Update: The initial review I posted still stands true. This place has compassionate and competent staff. The residents are happy. The setting is comfortable and gorgeous and friendly. We had to move my mom due to increased care needed and no availability in their assisted living section. We really really miss the Waterford. The new place doesn’t compare.

When my mother was in the memory care wing, she was paying over $7000 a month, and they forgot her B12 injections for 6 months, which affected her memory even more. A staff member left her in her room unattended for over an hour, where she managed to get out of her wheelchair, and cracked her head open on the floor. I had to threaten the manager to go public to get that PSW off the memory care floor. The staff are on their phones constantly, and food is subpar. After she came back from surgery at the hospital (after 2 falls on her hip), she had a hard time recognizing her cup after being used to paper cups. I heard a PSW yell, "It's right in front of you!" They tried to charge extra for reminding her to stay at her table during meals, even though we already paid extra for memory care. I came from work at lunch hour to watch her without her knowing. She did not need any reminding. The "Wellness Manager" had asked staff for this information but did not check to see if it was accurate. There was a PSW who sat on the computer at night and did not go down the hall once to check on residents. That was when Mum had a terrible fall trying to get to the bathroom without help. She had bruises for a few months, and later surgery on that hip. Please do not bring your loved ones here. They monetize every step of decline.
