  Avoid This Retirement Home – Serious Issues with Management and Care I would strongly advise against placing a loved one in this retirement home. Our experience has been nothing short of a nightmare due to the poor management, unethical practices, and lack of proper care for residents. First and foremost, the facility engaged in unauthorized withdrawals from my mother’s bank account using the numbers at the bottom of her personal checks—while the check was still in her pocket! This is not just unethical but outright criminal behavior. If family members are unaware of their loved one’s finances or if their loved one is unable to manage their own accounts, I strongly urge them to check all bank statements regularly. This kind of financial exploitation can go unnoticed if families are not vigilant. Beyond financial misconduct, the living conditions are unacceptable. Meals are largely frozen foods, with no pork options because the owner is Muslim. While dietary restrictions for religious reasons are understandable, there is no accommodation for those who may want or need other options. There are no real activities for residents, leaving them bored and irritable, which has led to frequent fights among them. Worse, individuals with severe mental health conditions are integrated with elderly residents without proper supervision, creating an unsafe environment for everyone. The personal support workers (PSWs) are clearly overworked and underpaid, leading to staff burnout and poor quality of care. Lawn maintenance and snow removal are completely neglected, creating additional hazards for residents. Additionally, the facility itself is extremely outdated. Management does not invest in upkeep, renovations, or upgrades to the rooms and common living areas. Everything feels old and worn down, making the environment not only unpleasant but also potentially unsafe for seniors. Overall, this facility is poorly run, unsafe, and untrustworthy. I highly recommend looking elsewhere if you want your loved one to be treated with dignity and proper care.
