We are so grateful to Brookside Retirement Living for the care our mum received during her winter respite stay. From the moment she arrived, the staff made her feel welcome and supported. The activities were thoughtfully planned and well run, and the energy and kindness from the team really stood out. It gave us comfort knowing she was in a warm and caring environment. We would recommend Brookside to anyone looking for a smaller, homey, and well-managed retirement residence, especially one that offers multiple levels of care as needs change. Thank you to the team for all their efforts and dedication.

Brookside Retirement Home has been a wonderful place for my mother since October 2024. She feels secure, welcomed, and truly cared for. The staff are responsive, compassionate, and genuinely invested in her well-being. The meals, activities, and medical services are top-notch, tailored to her age group and interests. Knowing she’s in such capable hands gives me great peace of mind. Highly recommend Brookside for anyone looking for a caring and supportive retirement community

Our mother spent her final days in Brookside Senior Living in Kanata. When she lived in another retirement home, Forest Valley in Orleans, she suffered two serious falls, two days in a row. She was hospitalized for both falls and after the second fall she was admitted to the hospital. During the two + weeks our mom was in the hospital we frantically searched for a different retirement home because we were not prepared to send her back to Forest Valley. We toured several retirement homes and when we toured Brookside, my sisters and I immediately agreed this was the place for our mom. The staff were friendly, communicative and showed us real compassion on that first day of our tour. As a result of the two falls, upon release from the hospital, our mom was non-verbal, bedridden and required complete care. So our care needs from Brookside were super high. The staff took great care of our mom; they showed her kindness, compassion and treated her with dignity throughout her stay. Although our mom couldn't communicate, she would often try to smile at the staff. The staff also communicated regularly with us, any time we were there. At one point there was a mis-communication regarding our mom's care. The owner immediately met with us to discuss and clarify the issue. Our mom lived for another two and a half months in Brookside. We are so very thankful everyday that she spent her final days there. We are so appreciative of everyone who played a role in our mom's care - thank you all.
