My mom's three-month stint on memory care here was a mixed experience. The staff were generally pleasant to deal with day to day and seemed to be doing the best they could with what they have to work with and in the context of how difficult dementia is to deal with. They took her in quickly at a time when we were desperate to find a place. However, it's a corporate multi-home model with a "head office" and once you start having problems (which we did), it is an exercise in frustration. The top person you can meet with in person doesn't have any power to make real decisions, so you have to negotiate through a proxy with this "head office", who is only interested in maximizing profits and does not back up the "compassionate, caring" tagline with their actions. Additionally, I often had to contact staff two or three times about the same issue as they would randomly go radio silent on me. Giving three stars is honestly quite generous, but is the best I can find it in me to do.

I spent a few days at Symphony Kanata, after hip replacement surgery. My stay gave me a head start on recovery. The care, facilities and meals were all excellent, and all the staff were most helpful and friendly.

My mom had been living at Symphony for fourteen years. We have seen many changes over the years . They have always strived to improve conditions for residents and staff throughout our time there. During the Covid years Symphony very successfully protected staff and residents from any serious outbreaks which highlights their commitment to health and safety. When it was time for Mom to move to a long term care facility, staff were very helpful with this transition. This was well appreciated by us. I would recommend Symphony to anyone looking for a safe and comfortable retirement living experience. A big shoutout and thanks to all the staff throughout the years for the caring and affection they have shown our family. Thank you.
