My Mom was 91 when she moved in to Ogilvie Villa and lived there until she was 94. She received excellent care. The food was also very good and nutritious. So clean you could eat off the floor. Wonderful kind staff also from the compassionate Executive Director Elizabeth O'Hara and the Director of Wellness Winie Dangarang who was always there to comfort my Mom. Great PSW staff as well. It's like a family at Ogilvie Villa! I highly recommend this retirement home! Can't say enough good things about it, Thanks Ogilvie Villa from my Mom's very grateful daughter Judy

My dear mom, Ann Currie, was a resident of Ogilvie Villa from March 2024 until she entered palliative care at the end of July 2025. When I first went to check out OV I was greeted by a wonderful Sales Associate, Mary. She walked me through all the steps, showed me around and there was no rush or pressure. When I went back with my mom she was so patient and kind with her and made her feel like it was her decision, which is was, again no pressure. Mary was very good at answering my many phone calls and emails promptly when I was getting everything organized always with a reassuring word. I was impressed with the the small home like feeling of the residence and it was exactly what I was looking for....everything on one floor as mom had short term dementia. It is clean and bright and all the staff were wonderful to mom. When she could, which was fairly often for the first year, mom took part in the activities and the activity coordinator would always remind her and other residents when it was time for the activities, for those who needed reminding. The food was good and the chef and kitchen staff wonderful. Christina, the administrative assistant, whose desk is near the door when you walk in, always had a smile and kind words and very helpful when needed. I must especially give a big thank you to the wonderful nursing staff, especially the head nurse, Winie, for her care and compassion to mom from the beginning but she was certainly on top of everything when mom's health really started declining. Mom always said Winie was 'her girl'. She always kept me updated on everything and when I called would always have answers to my questions. I would be remiss if I didn't mention Wayne, who was in charge of maintenance. He was always in good humour and had time to stop and say hi to the residents and did his job well. I am sure he was in mom's room often adjust the a/c or heat. Also Prince and Luke (PSW), who mom liked to call her 'boyfriends', were so very kind to her. Mom looked forward to Prince going into her room every morning for the daily refresh to see how he would arrange her stuffed animals on the bed each day and each day they were different. He was always in a good mood and would cheer mom up the days she needed cheering up. There was always a personal touch at Ogilvie Villa. I would definitely recommend Ogilvie Villa especially if you are looking for a small residence with a home like atmosphere and easy to get around for those with memory problems, good meals, clean, and friendly and attentive staff. Sadly mom passed away in September 2025. Her time there was short but wonderful.
