I had an amazing experience with Sumach by Chartwell! The staff were incredible—especially Jef. He guided me through every step of finding the perfect home for my dad. The building is modern, welcoming, and full of great amenities that create a real sense of community. My dad is thriving here—he’s happy, making new friends, and truly enjoying life. Highly recommend Sumach by Chartwell for anyone looking for a vibrant and supportive place to live!

We were very happy with the experience our mother had at The Sumach. Although she was there for only one year before transitioning to a long term care home, she received a high level of care and support throughout this time. Their ability to adapt to sudden changes in Mom’s care needs was also greatly appreciated.

Our father suddenly wasn't able to live on his own and we quickly needed to find a retirement home for him in the downtown Toronto area to be close to our family and friends. Someone had mentioned The Sumach by Chartwell to me and after taking a tour there I was extremely impressed by the quality of their suites, facilities and kind, caring and helpful staff. From the moment we decided this would be the perfect place for dad, Jeff R. quickly helped us get everything organized to make dads transition go as smoothly as possible. Jeff took our calls (which were many) 24/7 and always greeted us with a happy and encouraging voice which is much needed through this very stressful transition for all involved. We were able to arrange everything to have my father moved into a beautiful place called The Sumach within a weeks time due only from the help of Jeff and a very special lady named Susan. Now dad is living a beautiful lifestyle and hopefully he will continue to carry on there for many many years. We highly recommend this senior's retirement home for anyone needing a safe and beautiful home with delicious meals, enormous amount of activities and compassionate, caring staff whom always greet you with a smiling friendly face. Again, thank you Jeff R. for all your help, thoughtfulness and keeping me sane!
