  We moved our mom into Chartwell Waterford Residence in Oakville 8 months ago. Kareem gave us a tour at an open house. We were struck by the cleanliness of the facility, and friendliness of all the staff. There is plenty of natural light streaming in to all parts of the home including all the suites. Katie was wonderful in answering all our questions and very patient with us as we went back and forth before making the final decision. She connected us with Katrina, the health service co-ordinator, and Christian, the food service co-ordinator. They adjusted for the vegetarian food needs preferred by Mom. All the staff have been fantastic. Front staff: Manny, Josh, Irene, Emily, always smiling and patient with all the residents no matter how stressed or disoriented they might be. The psw's and nursing staff have also been understanding, professional and friendly. The activities co-ordinator, Claudia, has been fantastic. She never seems to be stressed, treating all residents like her own family, laughing and joking with all. This includes Naz, and all the others. They have regular meetings with all the residents and family members. They take feedback and work to make changes when necessary. We celebrated Mom's 93rd birthday in July and all the staff were extremely accomodating. We had over 50 family and friends in the courtyard, including babies and children! We have seen great improvements in Mom's mood over these past months as she adjusted to the surroundings, routine, and people. I highly recommend Chartwell Waterford as a retirement home for any family struggling with the decision on what to do.

  Finding a retirement place for a loved one can be overwhelming but Katie Hourigan and Susan Gallagher helped us navigate the process with professionalism and care before, during and even after our Mom moved on to Long Term Care. They were empathetic and so supportive as was Office Manager Kareem O’Brien, Maintenance Manager Heather, Dining Room Manager Lily as well as the Activity Co-or’s The food is delicious, the suites and common areas are clean inviting places to spend time and the residents enjoy a true sense of community. Many thanks to everyone both staff and residents who helped make our Mother’s stay at The Waterford such a positive, happy experience.

  My father had a short stay in the Waterford. While he was there the staff was excellent. The residence is airy and bright. There were lots of activities available. My only regret is we didn’t choose the Waterford sooner.
