  I just spent the week visiting my mom who moved to Venvi Landmark Court Senior Living Community in Ottawa, CA last April and this is what I found. The staff was so welcoming and clearly caring and attentive to my mom’s needs. Leah, the events and recreation director, is such a special person and is perfect in her role making such a huge difference in the lives of my mom and the residents providing many activities from exercise 2-3X week to musical performances by local student volunteers, and field trips to the local mall and parks for picnics. The food was very good and provided a varied and nutritious menu with plenty of alternative options (of course with advance notice), served by friendly and caring staff like Linda and Lee. The head of maintenance, Jesse, was responsive and timely in replacing my mom’s air conditioner when it was struggling during a particularly hot day during my visit. I met so many happy residents who are treated with respect and kindness during a most challenging time in their lives (as well as the lives of their kids!) and this can only be possible under the guidance of a leader such as Cathy Casselman, the Executive Director of Landmark Court. She has high expectations of her staff and has a clear vision and philosophy for her staff, residents and facility. She (and the staff) care deeply about each and every resident and the daily and ongoing challenges they face. And although my brother lives very close to mom, it gives me such relief (living in NY) and joy to know that my mom is being so well cared for by Cathy and her wonderful staff. As far as my mom’s apartment goes, it’s also perfect for her with a large bedroom and living room with plenty of closet storage, windows with plenty of sunlight, a small, modern kitchen with sink, refrigerator, microwave and small appliances that she can use for herself, a modern and spacious bathroom with good ventilation and heat lamp. She’s lucky enough to even have a separate back door to a patio leading to a walkway surrounded by lovely woods and grounds where she can get her daily exercise (and quick exit if needed). The apartment was even mostly furnished and we only needed to bring/purchase a few items that helped make moving her from Portland, OR so much easier. Thanks so much to Cathy and the many competent and caring people who look over my mom and her friends. We are so lucky that my mom landed at the Landmark Court!

  The staff and facility are all amazing at Landmark Court! From Terri in reception, to Jane in nursing, to Heather in lifestyle consulting, to Leah in programs, to Cathy in management to name a few, what a great team! The food is great, the staff are very caring, the facility has everything, there are always lots of programs going on to keep the residents happy and entertained. I highly recommend!

  We helped a lovely senior move inside the building today and everything went smoothly. The lady at the front desk was very helpful and Jesse was amazing, quickly helping us with tools to install a support pole. The retirement home was clean, organized and had good vibes. The seniors that we met all seemed to be happy. (Ben @ Capital Moving Help)
