  My husband and I have lived at the Waterford Grand for six months. This is a modern version of a retirement residence, something I don’t believe existed a decade ago. It is very welcoming, offers many amenities, caring staff, and a dining lounge for meals. We have made friends with many other residents and are proud to show off our new home to family and friends.

  Came to check out the place. Friendly staff, fast elevators, 2 banks of them! Lovely building and amenities. The lobby feels very high end hotel! Services looks great and the family who owns this was in hospitality industry for many years. Friday night live entertainment and they make space for a little dance floor. A special menu is made and family can join and it’s set up as if you’re out at a restaurant! The movie theatre was really well done and a new movie each night. Dining hall looks high end with white table cloths at dinner service. Hair salon is a real hair salon ran by Joseph & Joseph (I think)!! Good size floor plans. The chef is well known in the city but I can’t remember his name but I did recognize his restaurant names when Karen mentioned them. Attached next door via a second story bridge is a 55+ retirement condo. Note: This is not a big brand corporate ran chain like Chartwell or Cogir. Family owned, which is what I would prefer. I feel you get more personalized service and less corner cutting on the balance sheets, as with any corporation with stockholders, it’s about making money and appeasing shareholders. It costs more. But at least I know mom won’t complain next year the place stopped buying Heinz ketchup and went to some no name brand or something like that 😂🤩🙏. Some pics attached from my tour. Sadly there is a waiting list. Which is what you want. Any place with too much availability makes you wonder why they got so much room? Why people not staying??

  We have had an incredible experience partnering with The Waterford Grand. I am the Principal of an alternative high school program, and we have collaborated on two major projects with their team and residents—both of which have been absolutely wonderful. We worked closely with Activity Director Oliver and the residents on a Jazz Night and a Tea & Cookies event, where we brought youth from Ottawa Community Housing to connect and engage with residents. The Waterford Grand was welcoming, supportive, and truly committed to creating meaningful community experiences. These events were impactful for both the youth and residents, and we are so grateful for the opportunity to build this partnership. This is just the start, and we can’t wait to continue our partnership and create even more meaningful experiences together. Highly recommend The Waterford Grand—an amazing community with an outstanding team!
