  Unlike most reviews, I have waited 10 months to give a proper review. As giving a review right of the hop is basic BS. My 95 year father moved in to one of Penguin’s Hamilton location apartments in May of 2024. The unit had never been occupied so he was, and remains the initial Tennant. We had a problem with the fridge, and it needed to be replaced as something in shipping had broken in the unit. They replaced it immediately. There is an elevator for the main floor and lower level tenants use. When it went down, and my father could not get back in his unit, Roberto, the maintenance coordinator, literally picked up my father and carried him up the stairs so that he could get in to his unit. The elevator was repaired the same night. They have someone coming by on a regular basis to cut the grass. And with all the snow that we had this winter, the guys were here around 2-3 am some nights making sure that the driveway was clear for any morning commute. If ever I had any concerns, I could reach out to Guy at any given time and he would respond momentarily afterwards. I have not lived in a rental for decades, however if I had to give this company a rating on attentive communication and follow through, I would most certainly award them a ten out of ten

  I reached out to Guy at Penguin Living when I was looking for a wheelchair accessible rental unit. Guy is a great communicator and easy to work with with. It’s not easy to find wheelchair accessible housing and appreciate Guy’s focus on creating more accessible housing opportunities in our communities; it also comes across as a genuine endeavour. I met the Construction manager Roberto at the rental unit, and he was also a great guy. He showed me around the unit, and they did a great job on the renovations. Truly an accessible unit with a high-quality lift, large bathrooms, roll under sinks, and drop down storage / shelving to name a few key features. Guy and Roberto absolutely passed the “vibe check” which was important to me when assessing who I may be dealing with as my landlord.
