  Our family had an outstanding experience with the 30-day respite care program at Forestview Retirement Residence. From the moment my mom arrived, everyone made her feel welcome, comfortable, and truly cared for. A special thank you to Diana, Community Relations Manager, and Dulce, Wellness Manager, for their exceptional support throughout the entire process. Diana was incredibly warm, knowledgeable, and helpful from our first inquiry, making the transition into respite care seamless and reassuring. Dulce was compassionate, attentive, and took the time to ensure my mom’s care needs were met while providing our family with confidence and peace of mind. Throughout her 30-day stay, the entire team treated my mom with kindness, respect, and dignity. They encouraged her to participate in activities, helped her socialize with other residents, and created a warm, welcoming environment where she felt safe and supported. The residence is clean, beautiful, and well maintained, and communication with our family was excellent throughout her stay. Knowing my mom was receiving such compassionate, high-quality care gave us invaluable peace of mind. Thank you to Diana, Dulce, and the entire Forestview Retirement Residence team for your professionalism, kindness, and dedication. We are truly grateful for the exceptional care you provided and would highly recommend Forestview Retirement Residence to anyone seeking respite care or considering permanent residency for a loved one.

  My father lived at Forestview Retirement Centre from Nov 30 to April 29, starting in Independent Living and moving to Assisted Living on Feb 8 as his dementia rapidly progressed. While he was initially assessed as appropriate for Independent Living, his condition quickly declined with worsening confusion, frequent falls, weight loss, swallowing concerns, and increasing need for 1:1 supervision. In our experience, the facility was not able to safely support him as his dementia progressed. We repeatedly raised concerns and were told they could meet his needs, but we had to coordinate private care, advocate for basic equipment, and step in to manage safety. PSWs on the floor and through Ontario Health atHome did not meaningfully liaise with us about his day-to-day care needs, and communication about his decline was limited. There were also serious concerns around consistency of feeding care and supervision on the floor. He was sent to hospital after a fall, and on one occasion without personal belongings like shoes or socks. For families with loved ones in early or mild dementia, I would strongly caution that this facility may not be equipped to manage progressing dementia and increasing care needs safely.

  I have just moved my mother to Forestview, initially on an assisted living program following a hip replacement and then to independent living. Diana was amazing to deal with and so is everyone else that works there. Mom is loving it and everybody is extremely friendly.
