TELUS Health sells two medical alerts in Canada as of October 2026: a mobile pendant with fall detection at $65 a month on a one-year term ($80 month to month), and the in-home LivingWell Companion Home at $45 a month ($60 month to month). Both add a $35 activation fee, and existing TELUS or Koodo customers save $10 a month.

Is TELUS Medical Alert right for your parent?
Maybe your parent lives alone, and every unanswered phone call sends your mind to the worst place. You've tried daily check-in calls, but nobody can call often enough to catch a fall at 3 a.m.
A TELUS medical alert puts a button on your parent's chest or wrist that reaches a 24/7 operator, who calls family or sends help. TELUS describes itself as the largest Canadian-owned medical alert provider, and it sells and supports the service directly, by phone and online.
It suits families who want a big, familiar Canadian name and a mobile device that works anywhere with cell service. It's not the cheapest option, and the best price needs a one-year term.
Our take: Choose the pendant, not the Companion Home, for a parent who lives alone: the home unit has no fall detection, so it only helps if your parent can still press the button. If you already have TELUS or Koodo service, the existing-customer price makes the pendant fair value. Otherwise, get one no-contract quote to compare before you sign a one-year term.
Which TELUS Medical Alert products are sold in Canada?
TELUS Health Medical Alert Pendant
A cellular pendant with automatic fall detection, two-way voice and location tracking anywhere in Canada with cell coverage. The battery lasts up to 6 days, and it's rated IP67, so it can be worn in the shower (not in the bath).
Best for: A parent who lives alone or still drives, shops and walks on their own.
LivingWell Companion Home
A button worn on a lanyard or wristband that works within 600 feet of a base station in the home. No fall detection. The button's built-in battery lasts 3 to 5 years.
Best for: A parent who rarely goes out alone and can reliably press a button.
How much does TELUS Medical Alert cost in Canada?

|---|---|---|
| Medical Alert Pendant | $65 a month on a 1-year term, $80 month to month | Existing TELUS or Koodo customers: $55 a month on a term |
| LivingWell Companion Home | $45 a month on a 1-year term, $60 month to month | Existing TELUS or Koodo customers: $35 a month on a term |
| Activation fee | $35, one time | On every new order |
| Leaving a 1-year term early | $15 for each month left | No more than $50 in Quebec |
Prices are from TELUS's own pages on October 13, 2026, before tax. The $10 existing-customer saving uses TELUS's THANKYOU10 promo code. In a first year on the pendant, a new customer pays about $815 before tax ($65 x 12 plus activation). The equipment must be returned in good condition when you cancel, or TELUS charges its replacement cost.
Can you get help paying for TELUS Medical Alert?
- Existing TELUS or Koodo customer discount
$10 off every month with the THANKYOU10 code, on a term or month to month. If anyone in the family has TELUS home or mobile service, check whether the account can carry the alert.
- Medical Expense Tax Credit (federal)
CRA lists personal response systems, such as Lifeline-style medical alerts, as not eligible, so don't count on a tax refund for the monthly fee.
How do you sign up, set it up and cancel?
Ordering
Order online or call TELUS at 1-888-505-8008. Month-to-month plans are phone orders only. The pendant comes with a 30-day satisfaction guarantee, so test it at home in the first weeks.
Setting it up from a distance
The pendant includes TELUS's Caregiver Mobile app for family. Ask TELUS to list two or three contacts who live nearby, and say who has a key, so the operator isn't sending an ambulance to a locked door.
Wear it the way it works best
TELUS says fall detection is more accurate when the pendant hangs on its lanyard on the chest, over clothing. Charge it on the cradle at the same time each day, such as with the morning coffee.
Before you sign a 1-year term
Write down the cancellation fee and the equipment return rule, and keep the box. If a move to retirement living or long-term care is likely within a year, the month-to-month price can cost less overall.
Which local medical alert companies can you compare with TELUS?
TELUS sells direct, so there's no local TELUS dealer. These Canadian medical alert companies are listed on Senior Care Path. A second quote from one near your parent takes ten minutes and often beats a one-year term.

What are the alternatives to TELUS Medical Alert?
- Life Assure: A Winnipeg company with no contract and no activation fee; its mobile unit plus fall detection lands close to the TELUS pendant's price.
- Lifeline: Long-established, with in-home and mobile units with fall detection, including one for a parent who wanders.
- A cellular Apple Watch: No monitoring fee and it calls 911 after a hard fall, but no operator who knows your parent. Best for a tech-comfortable senior.
- A local medical alert company: Often month to month, with a person in your province to call when something goes wrong.
Questions families ask about TELUS Medical Alert
How much is the TELUS medical alert per month?
As of October 2026, the TELUS Health Medical Alert Pendant is $65 a month on a one-year term or $80 month to month, and the LivingWell Companion Home is $45 or $60. Both add a $35 activation fee; existing TELUS or Koodo customers pay $10 a month less.
Does TELUS LivingWell Companion have fall detection?
The in-home LivingWell Companion Home doesn't. Fall detection comes with the TELUS Health Medical Alert Pendant, which also works away from home on the cellular network.
Do you need TELUS phone or internet service to get it?
No. Anyone in Canada can order it. Having TELUS or Koodo home or mobile service just lowers the monthly price by $10.
Does the TELUS pendant work outside the home?
Yes, anywhere in Canada with cellular coverage, and it shares an approximate location with the operator. The Companion Home only works within about 600 feet of its base station.
Can you cancel a TELUS medical alert?
Yes. On a one-year term TELUS charges $15 for each month left (no more than $50 in Quebec), and the equipment must be returned in good condition. Month-to-month plans have no cancellation fee.
Is a TELUS medical alert tax deductible?
Usually not. CRA lists personal response systems as not eligible for the Medical Expense Tax Credit.
